Celebrating Plenty: 2021 Holiday Season

We’re donating up to 100,000 meals to American families this holiday season.

The holidays are a time to celebrate our abundance. Most people celebrate with at least one traditional feast. However, fewer people celebrate with the equally traditional fasts.

There are plenty of metabolic reasons to fast intermittently this season, but you might be surprised to hear about fasts as a way to celebrate plenty. Traditionally, that was the main reason people fasted. Skipping a meal by choice reminds us of how much we have and builds empathy for those who have no choice but to go without.

This winter, in the US, at least 13-million children and 5-million seniors face food insecurity. The combination of unemployment, shortages, and inflation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic has driven millions of Americans to turn to food banks for the first time in their lives.

Traditional fasting practices were almost always combined with charity, especially the giving of food. Donating the food not eaten during a fast meant that everyone was able to participate in the feast that followed.

Inspired by these traditional practices, we’re inviting you to partner with us to help everyone feast this holiday season. In a single action, you can  help others meet their basic metabolic needs, while improving their own metabolic fitness. We can all celebrate our abundance, by sharing it with others.

For every order between now and the end of the year, we’re donating 10 meals to American food banks.

We encourage you to feast with your family and friends this holiday season. We also invite you to fast with us this holiday season, so that everyone can join in the feast.
